Chandos Glass Cone is a Grade I listed industrial structure located at the junction of Northgate and Valetta Place in Stourton, near Stourbridge in the West Midlands. Dating from the late eighteenth century, it is one of the finest surviving examples of a glassmaking cone, a kiln structure essential to the operation of glass furnaces during the Georgian period. The cone's distinctive conical form, constructed in brick, served to contain and direct heat efficiently during the glass production process. As a well-preserved relic of the region's significant glassmaking heritage, the structure represents an important phase of industrial development in the English Midlands.
