Chapel Farm moated site is a medieval moated enclosure located in Suffolk, England. The site consists of a substantial rectangular moat surrounding what would have been the domestic and agricultural core of a medieval settlement, typical of the moated homesteads that proliferated across East Anglia during the medieval period. Such moated sites served as status symbols and defensive features for the minor gentry and substantial farmers of the thirteenth to sixteenth centuries, providing both practical water management and a measure of protection for the resident household and its moveable assets. The earthwork survives as a significant archaeological monument preserving evidence of medieval rural settlement patterns and land use in East Anglia.
