Christchurch Priory is a former Augustinian priory founded in the early twelfth century in Christchurch, Hampshire (not Kent). The priory church, largely dating from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, remains the principal structure on the site and features characteristic Romanesque and Early English Gothic elements. The complex originally included conventional buildings and was associated with significant landholdings in the region. Though much of the medieval fabric has been lost or altered, the surviving priory church continues to demonstrate the architectural quality and scale of a substantial medieval religious foundation.
