Cnoc a' Bhreac-leathaid is an ancient shielings and cairnfield complex located in Sutherland, Scotland, approximately 700 metres north-north-east of the settlement from which it takes its name. The site comprises pastoral structures and clearance cairns that reflect medieval and early modern upland land use practices, when such locations served as temporary summer pastures for livestock herding. The cairnfield represents the accumulated clearance of stones from cultivation or pastoral management over successive periods of occupation. The shielings and associated features exemplify the transhumance pastoral economy that characterised the Highlands and Islands through the medieval period and into the early modern era.
