Cobbie Row's Castle is a twelfth-century stone keep situated on the island of Wyre in Orkney. The structure represents an early example of Norman military architecture in Scotland, built during the period of Norse-Scottish cultural transition in the Northern Isles. The castle comprises a substantial rectangular tower with walls of dry-stone construction, standing to a considerable height and demonstrating the defensive aspirations of its builder. The monument is among the oldest castles in Scotland and provides important evidence for the settlement patterns and power structures of medieval Orkney.
