The site is defined by a single defensive rampart with an external ditch, enclosing an area of approximately 1.6 hectares on the summit of Dundon Beacon. The hillfort likely dates to the Iron Age period, though precise chronological attribution remains uncertain without extensive excavation. The monument survives as an upstanding earthwork and represents a significant example of Iron Age defensive settlement strategy in the Somerset Levels region.
