Corn mill and lade, 50m ESE of Millbank, Talmine is a post-medieval milling complex situated in Sutherland, northern Scotland. The site comprises a corn mill structure together with its associated lade, or artificial watercourse, which was engineered to direct water to power the mill wheel. Such installations were typical features of rural Scottish estates from the seventeenth century onwards, serving both economic and practical functions for local communities and landholdings. The remains represent the physical infrastructure of grain processing technology that would have been essential to subsistence and commercial activity in the Highlands during the early modern period.
