Cubley Hall moated site is a medieval fortified enclosure located in Derbyshire. The site comprises a substantial moat surrounding a residential platform, representing a form of domestic fortification common amongst the lesser gentry and substantial yeomanry during the medieval period. The moat system reflects investment in both defence and status during a period when such features conveyed social standing within the rural landscape.
