Cyfarthfa Tramroad Section at Heolgerrig is a Post Medieval and Modern industrial tramroad forming part of the historic transport infrastructure associated with Cyfarthfa Ironworks near Merthyr Tydfil. The surviving section preserves evidence of the tramroad system that operated during the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to transport iron and coal from the works and surrounding mines. The tramroad represents the substantial industrial development of the South Wales iron industry during this period. The site is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument under the care of Cadw, recognising its significance as evidence of Wales's industrial heritage.
