Dalmahoy Hill Fort is an Iron Age fortification located in Midlothian, Scotland, occupying a commanding position on high ground in the landscape. The fort is defined by substantial defensive earthworks comprising ramparts and ditches that enclose the hilltop summit, characteristic of Iron Age defensive architecture in Scotland. Dating to the Iron Age period, the site represents an important centre of settlement and territorial control in the Lothian region, contemporary with similar fortified sites across central Scotland. The physical remains, though now largely reduced to earthwork features visible on the ground, retain archaeological significance as evidence of Iron Age settlement patterns and the strategic use of hilltop locations for defence and settlement.
