Danebury Hill Fort is an Iron Age hillfort located near Nether Wallop in Hampshire, England. The site comprises a univallate defensive enclosure with a single bank and ditch, encompassing approximately 5.5 hectares, and is situated at an elevation of around 150 metres on a prominent hilltop. Extensive archaeological excavation conducted between 1969 and 1988 revealed substantial evidence of settlement, including post-hole patterns from timber buildings, storage pits, and finds indicating habitation from the Middle Iron Age through to the Late Iron Age, broadly spanning the period from the 6th century BC to the 1st century BC. The fort demonstrates the defensive and settlement characteristics typical of southern English hillforts and has yielded important artefactual and stratigraphic evidence contributing to understanding of Iron Age economic and social organisation in central southern Britain.
