Dieu-la-Cres Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery located in Staffordshire, founded in the twelfth century as a daughter house of the Cistercian order. The abbey was established during a period of significant monastic expansion in England and followed the austere architectural principles characteristic of Cistercian communities. Today, only fragmentary remains survive of the abbey's structures, reflecting the extensive dismantling that followed the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the sixteenth century. The surviving features provide evidence of the abbey's medieval layout and construction, though much of the original stonework has been lost or incorporated into later buildings in the vicinity.
