Dun Garsin is a broch located in Bracadale, Inverness-shire, in the Isle of Skye. This Iron Age stone tower dates to the later prehistoric period, typical of the broch-building tradition that flourished in northern and western Scotland during the first centuries BC and AD. The monument survives as substantial remains of a circular stone-built structure characteristic of brochs, with the distinctive hollow-walled design and internal galleries that define this architectural form. Brochs such as Dun Garsin served defensive and residential functions within Iron Age societies, and their presence in the Hebrides represents an important phase in the prehistoric settlement and fortification of Scotland's Atlantic seaboard.
