Enclosure and hut circles on Erme Plains is a Bronze Age settlement located on the elevated moorland of south Devon. The monument comprises the remains of a substantial enclosed settlement with associated circular structures typical of later prehistoric domestic occupation, dating to the second millennium BCE. The hut circles represent the foundation rings of roundhouses, whilst the enclosure defines the boundary of this nucleated settlement pattern. Such upland settlements are characteristic of Bronze Age land use in south-western England and provide evidence of pastoral and agricultural exploitation of the moor during the later prehistoric period.
