Ffestiniog Railway: relict sections south of Tanygrisiau is a narrow-gauge railway of nineteenth-century industrial heritage located in Conwy, Wales. The surviving sections represent part of the extensive tramway network that served the slate quarries of the Ffestiniog district, facilitating the transport of slate from quarry to processing works and onwards to ports for export during the peak period of Welsh slate production. These relict stretches of tracked route preserve evidence of the engineering infrastructure that underpinned one of Wales' most significant extractive industries, dating from the period when the Ffestiniog Railway operated as a working quarry railway before its later reincarnation as a passenger tourist attraction.
