Fort Augustus-Bernera Military Road is a drove route and military communications route situated in the Scottish Highlands, approximately 1890 metres west of Ceannacroc Lodge in Inverness-shire. The road represents part of the network of military infrastructure developed in the Highlands during the eighteenth century, following the Jacobite uprisings, to facilitate troop movement and government control across difficult terrain. The route forms a section of the broader military road system built under the direction of General George Wade and his successors, connecting Fort Augustus with settlements and outposts to the west.
