Four stone hut circles and associated boundary walls south east of Fernworthy Reservoir, 250m north west of Metherall is a Bronze Age settlement site located on Dartmoor in Devon. The monument consists of four circular stone structures with diameter measurements typical of domestic dwellings from the later Bronze Age period, accompanied by field boundary walls that define the organised landscape system around the settlement. Such hut circle settlements represent permanent or semi-permanent habitation and reflect the pattern of pastoral and agricultural communities established on Dartmoor during the later second millennium BC. The survival of both the structural remains and the associated field systems provides evidence of prehistoric land use and settlement organisation on the Dartmoor uplands.
