The site comprises a single substantial defensive bank with an external ditch, enclosing an area of approximately three acres on the summit of the hill. Pottery and artefactual evidence indicate occupation during the Iron Age, consistent with the broader pattern of hillfort construction and use across southern England during this period. The monument survives as a significant upstanding earthwork that contributes to understanding of Iron Age settlement and territorial organisation in Hampshire.
