Hulton Abbey is a Cistercian monastery founded in the twelfth century in Staffordshire, situated near Leek Road in Abbey Hulton. The abbey was established as a daughter house and developed into a significant religious community during the medieval period. Substantial earthwork remains survive at the site, including evidence of the monastic precinct and buildings characteristic of Cistercian planning. The abbey continued in operation until the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII in the sixteenth century, after which the site was abandoned and gradually fell into ruin.
