Ironshill is a post-medieval palisaded enclosure located approximately 600 metres south of Ironshill in Angus, Scotland. The monument consists of a timber palisade structure characteristic of the early modern period, representing a form of defensive or demarcative boundary construction typical of the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. Such palisaded enclosures served various functions including stock management, military fortification, or the delineation of territorial boundaries during a period of significant social and economic change in rural Scotland.
