Kae Heughs Fort is an Iron Age fortified settlement situated on the Garleton Hills in East Lothian, Scotland. The site consists of a bivallate fort, characterised by two concentric defensive ditches and ramparts that enclose an interior settlement area, typical of Iron Age defensive architecture in southeastern Scotland. Located on elevated terrain, the fort would have commanded views across the surrounding landscape, providing both defensive advantage and control over local routes and resources during the Iron Age period. Such hillforts served as focal points for regional communities, functioning as centres of residence, storage, and protection during a period of increasing social complexity in pre-Roman Scotland.
