Kilcheran Dun is an Iron Age defensive structure located approximately 450 metres south-south-west of Kilcheran in Argyllshire, Scotland. The monument consists of a circular or sub-circular stone-built fortification typical of Iron Age settlement patterns in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, constructed as a domestic stronghold or refuge. Such duns served as residences for high-status families and provided defensive capability during the Iron Age period, roughly 800 BC to AD 400. The site is recorded on the Historic Environment Scotland register under designation SM4187 as part of the archaeological record of early settlement in Argyll.
