Kildonan Burn is a post-medieval hut circles and field system located in Sutherland, Scotland. The site comprises the structural remains of domestic habitation and associated agricultural land use, typical of the settlement patterns and subsistence strategies of rural Highland communities during the post-medieval period. The hut circles represent evidence of residential occupation, whilst the field system demonstrates the management and cultivation of the surrounding landscape. Such sites are significant for understanding the development of rural settlement and land use in northern Scotland during the early modern era, before the extensive changes brought about by clearance and agricultural improvement in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
