Kilpatrick Dun is an Iron Age fortified settlement located approximately one kilometre south of Kilpatrick in Bute, Scotland. The monument comprises a dun, or small stone-built fort, surrounded by an enclosure with associated hut circles and a cairn, representing a typical domestic settlement pattern of the Iron Age period. The presence of multiple structural elements, including the field system, indicates sustained occupation and pastoral or agricultural activity at the site. Such enclosed settlements with defensive characteristics were common in western Scotland during the Iron Age and reflect the social organisation and land use practices of the period.
