Law Ting Holm is a Viking Age thingstead located on an island in the Loch of Tingwall in Shetland, Scotland. The site served as the assembly place or parliament for the Norse earldom of Orkney and Shetland, with evidence suggesting use from the mediaeval period onwards. The holm itself is a small islet within the loch, strategically positioned to facilitate gatherings of the Shetland community, and the location remained significant through the Norse and into the early modern period. This site represents an important vestige of Scandinavian administrative and judicial practice in the Northern Isles, preserving the memory of Norse governance structures that dominated the region before Scottish sovereignty was fully established.
