Loch an Duin is an Iron Age dun located in Aird, Ross-shire, Scotland. The monument consists of a circular stone-built fortification characteristic of the dun class of defensive structures that were prevalent in northern Scotland during the Iron Age. The site occupies a naturally defensible position near water, a common locational strategy for such fortified settlements. Like many duns of this period, it would have served as a residence for a local elite household and possibly functioned as a place of refuge during times of conflict or instability.
