Manorial settlement, fishponds and field system 200m south-west of Layton House is a complex of medieval agricultural and settlement features located in Durham, England. The site comprises earthwork remains of a manorial settlement together with associated fishponds and evidence of field systems, representing the physical infrastructure of medieval land management and exploitation. The features are characteristic of the period between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries, when such integrated systems of habitation, water management, and arable or pastoral agriculture were standard components of the manorial economy.
