Martello Tower P and Wireless Green is a Martello tower located in Suffolk, England, forming part of the coastal defence system constructed during the Napoleonic Wars in the early nineteenth century. The tower dates from the period 1808 to 1812, when a series of such fortifications was built along the east coast of England to guard against French invasion. Martello towers were circular or polygonal structures of brick and stone, typically standing between 30 and 40 feet in height, with gun emplacements positioned to command the approaches to the coast. The Wireless Green designation reflects later alterations or use of the site, relating to developments beyond the tower's original defensive purpose.
