Thundersbarrow Hill is an Iron Age hillfort located in Sussex, England, which occupies a commanding position on the South Downs. The site comprises a univallate enclosure with a single bank and ditch, characteristic of Martin Down style fortifications typical of the Iron Age period in southern Britain. Archaeological investigation and surface survey have identified Romano-British settlement remains and an associated field system within and around the hillfort, indicating continued occupation and exploitation of the landscape during the Roman period. The presence of a bowl barrow within the complex demonstrates earlier Bronze Age activity at the location, establishing Thundersbarrow Hill as a palimpsest of successive settlement patterns spanning more than a millennium.
