Moat and fishpond at Bentham Manor is a medieval earthwork complex located in Gloucestershire. The site comprises a motte-and-bailey fortification alongside associated fishpond features, typical of high-status manorial settlements of the Norman and post-Norman periods. The moat survives as a substantial earthen bank and ditch system that would have defended a timber or stone-built manor house, whilst the fishpond represents the provision of fresh fish as a food resource integral to medieval estate management. The monument dates to the medieval period, likely from the eleventh to thirteenth centuries, and remains an important archaeological record of feudal settlement patterns and domestic economy in the region.
