The moated site and fishpond located 170 metres and 160 metres south-east of Chidleys Farm is a medieval earthwork monument situated in Shropshire. The site comprises a substantial moat and associated fishpond, landscape features typical of high-status medieval settlement and agricultural management from the twelfth century onwards. Such moated enclosures commonly served defensive and prestige functions for medieval gentry and manorial lords, whilst fishponds were economically important features providing both sustenance and status.
