Peddimore Hall Moated site is a medieval defensive earthwork located in Warwickshire. The site comprises a moat, a water-filled ditch that once surrounded a residential or manorial enclosure, a characteristic feature of medieval aristocratic and gentry settlements from the twelfth century onwards. The moated enclosure served both practical defensive and status-signifying purposes, protecting the inhabitants and their property whilst demonstrating wealth and social standing. Such sites are relatively common across the English Midlands and represent an important class of medieval domestic archaeology, providing evidence of settlement patterns, landholding, and social hierarchy during the medieval period.
