The site comprises building remains and associated landscape features characteristic of early modern rural settlement and subsistence farming practised across upland South Wales. Dating from the post-medieval period, the settlement reflects the pattern of dispersed farmsteads that developed during the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries as agricultural exploitation expanded into marginal upland areas. The unclassified building structures at the site preserve material evidence of domestic and agricultural life during this period of Welsh rural development.
