Motte in Keeper's Wood is a medieval motte-and-bailey castle situated approximately 670 metres east of Castle Rising Castle in Norfolk. The monument comprises an earthwork mound characteristic of Norman defensive architecture, dating to the 11th or 12th century. Its proximity to the more substantial and better-documented Castle Rising suggests it may represent an earlier phase of fortification or a subsidiary defensive work within the wider estate. The site survives as an upstanding earthwork and remains an important record of medieval military architecture in East Anglia.
