History & significance

The monument group north of Cold Harbour Farm in Lincolnshire is a scheduled ancient monument comprising a Neolithic long barrow and two Bronze Age bowl barrows. The long barrow represents funerary practice of the Neolithic period and would have served as a communal burial structure, whilst the two bowl barrows are characteristic of Bronze Age burial tradition and reflect the shift towards individual or family interments during the later prehistoric period.
