Over Windmill is a post mill dating from the late eighteenth century, located in the village of Over in Cambridgeshire. The structure is built on a brick base and represents a characteristic example of the post mill type, which was the dominant form of windmill construction in eastern England during this period. The mill served the local agricultural community by grinding grain, a function typical of such installations throughout the region during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. As a surviving example of industrial vernacular architecture from this era, the windmill contributes to the understanding of rural milling practices in Cambridgeshire.
