Park pale at Marwell is a medieval deer park boundary located approximately four hundred metres west of Marwell Manor in Hampshire. The monument consists of an earthwork pale, a type of fence or boundary constructed to enclose land for the management of deer, which represents the infrastructure of aristocratic hunting and estate management during the medieval period. The pale survives as a linear earthwork feature that delineates the former extent of the park landscape. Such installations were characteristic of high-status medieval estates, where they served both practical and symbolic functions in demonstrating lordly authority and control over the surrounding countryside.
