Pillow mound 865m ESE of Trowlesworthy Warren House is a medieval artificial rabbit warren structure forming part of the Trowlesworthy Warren complex on Dartmoor in Devon. The pillow mound represents a characteristic earthwork of rabbit husbandry, comprising an elongated raised bank constructed to provide suitable habitat for domestic rabbits during the medieval period. Such structures were typically constructed from the twelfth century onwards and served as important sources of fresh meat and fur for landowners and their communities. The Trowlesworthy Warren site, of which this feature forms a part, demonstrates the medieval exploitation and management of Dartmoor's marginal land for agricultural productivity.
