Pillow mound and animal run 830m north east of Trowlesworthy Warren House is a medieval landscape feature forming part of the Trowlesworthy Warren complex on Dartmoor in Devon. The pillow mound represents an artificial earthwork constructed to provide habitat for rabbits, which were managed as a valuable resource in medieval and early post-medieval periods. The associated animal run, a linear earthwork, served to direct and control the movement of rabbits across the warren landscape. Together these features comprise part of a broader system of medieval warren management that exploited Dartmoor's open moorland for the commercial production of rabbit meat and fur.
