Pillow mound and V-shaped gully 350m north west of Great Trowlesworthy Tor is a medieval warren feature forming part of Trowlesworthy Warren, a landscape of rabbit management on Dartmoor, Devon. The pillow mound, an earthwork created to provide artificial habitat for rabbits, represents medieval or early post-medieval agriculture and the commercialisation of game management. The associated V-shaped gully served drainage and boundary functions within the warren system. Together these features demonstrate the organisation of rabbit husbandry, an economically significant enterprise on upland commons during the later medieval and early modern periods.
