Platform rath is a prehistoric ringfort situated in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. This monument represents a form of enclosed settlement typical of the early medieval period in Ireland, characterised by an artificial or levelled platform surrounded by defensive earthworks. The site reflects the pattern of territorial settlement and social organisation prevalent in early Christian Ireland, when such raths functioned as the defended homesteads of the local aristocracy and their retinue. Like comparable examples across Ulster, the platform rath would have accommodated domestic and possibly ceremonial activity within its protective perimeter.
