Platform rath, also known as E.Christ. Rath, is a defended settlement site located in Strabane, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The monument consists of a platform rath, a form of Early Christian period ringfort characterised by an elevated earthen platform enclosed by defensive features, typically dating to the early medieval period between the fifth and twelfth centuries. The site represents the settlement patterns and fortification practices of early medieval Irish communities, when such defended homesteads served both domestic and defensive purposes for ruling families and their dependants. Like other raths in the region, the site preserves evidence of the territorial and social organisation of early Christian Ireland.
