The site comprises the remains of a cattle pound, or livestock enclosure, alongside several hut circles which represent the domestic structures of a prehistoric community. These monuments date to the Bronze Age period and are characteristic of the upland pastoral settlements that exploited Bodmin Moor during this era. The survival of both the pastoral infrastructure and residential features at this location provides archaeological evidence of the economic strategies and settlement patterns of Bronze Age populations in south-western Britain.
