The site comprises a substantial enclosure, domestic settlement evidence in the form of a hut circle, and an associated cairnfield which collectively testify to sustained Bronze Age occupation and land use in this upland region. The cairnfield, composed of numerous cairns of varying sizes, likely represents Bronze Age funerary practice and territorial marking, whilst the hut circle indicates domestic habitation. Together these elements form a coherent Bronze Age archaeological complex of regional significance for understanding prehistoric settlement patterns and ritual practice on the Cumbrian uplands.
