Prehistoric settlement, two burnt mounds and a burial cairn on the north bank of Blackmea Crag Sike, 570m south west of Middle Farm is a multi-period archaeological complex in Yorkshire comprising Bronze Age and possibly later prehistoric remains. The site consists of a burial cairn alongside two burnt mounds, which are characteristic features of Bronze Age settlement and industrial activity, typically associated with metalworking or water heating. The physical clustering of these elements on the north bank of the watercourse reflects Bronze Age settlement patterns that favoured proximity to water sources for both domestic and functional purposes. The monuments collectively represent an important, albeit partly degraded, record of prehistoric occupation and ritual practice in the upland Yorkshire landscape.
