Reedie souterrain is an Iron Age underground stone-built structure located approximately 200 metres west-north-west of Reedie in Angus, Scotland. Souterrains of this type, known locally as earth houses, are characteristic of the Scottish Iron Age and are thought to date from around the first centuries BC and AD, though their precise chronology and function remain subjects of scholarly debate. The structure would have consisted of a stone-lined underground passage or chamber, typical of souterrains found throughout eastern Scotland, which may have served domestic, storage, or defensive purposes. Like many such monuments in the region, its current condition and state of preservation reflect the challenges of survival for subterranean archaeological features over two millennia.
