The Replica of the Mohne Dam is a twentieth-century experimental structure located within the grounds of the Building Research Establishment at Garston in Hertfordshire. Constructed as a scale model of the German Mohne Dam, which was famously breached during Operation Chastise in May 1943, the replica was built to enable British engineers to study the effects of the bombing and to conduct research into dam construction and resilience. The structure represents the practical application of wartime engineering knowledge and reflects the post-war scientific investigation into the vulnerabilities and design of major hydraulic infrastructure. It survives as a notable example of experimental research architecture from the mid-twentieth century.
