Rock with at least 33 cup marks, some enclosed by grooves, at top of slope between fence and Snowden Beck in Ellers Wood, Dob Park, 600m NE of Midge Hall is a Neolithic or Bronze Age rock art panel. The monument is carved with cup marks, depressions created by repeated percussion, of which at least thirty-three are visible; some of these cups are surrounded by concentric grooves, a form of ornamentation characteristic of prehistoric rock art in northern Britain. The rock remains in situ on the moorland slope where it was created, positioned between a fence and Snowden Beck in the Ellers Wood area of Dob Park. Such cup and ring marked rocks are distributed across upland Yorkshire and represent a significant evidence for ritual or symbolic activity among prehistoric communities, though their precise chronological dating and function remain matters of scholarly debate.
