Rockhead Cottage is an ancient unenclosed settlement located approximately 800 metres south-east of Rockhead Cottage in Fife, Scotland. The site represents a form of settlement characteristic of prehistoric or early medieval occupation in Scotland, consisting of structures lacking the formal defensive boundaries or organised layout of later enclosed settlements. The archaeological remains indicate domestic occupation during a period when such dispersed, open settlements were the predominant settlement form in rural Scotland. The site has been recorded within the Fife Historic Environment Record and is protected as a scheduled monument under Scottish heritage legislation.
