Seafin Castle is a Early Christian rath and fortification located at Moycove in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland. The site demonstrates the reuse of an earlier ringfort earthwork as the bailey of a later castle, a pattern common in medieval Ulster where Norman settlers adapted existing Irish defensive structures for their own purposes. The monument survives as an earthwork comprising the circular rath bank with an adjoining bailey platform, evidence of occupation across both the early medieval and medieval periods. This layering of Early Christian and medieval defensive usage makes the site significant for understanding the transition from Irish to Anglo-Norman settlement strategies in the region.
